Davis Residence
Advanced Residential Design
Fall 2021
Project Information:
This project aims to develop a high-end contemporary residence for a couple located on the beach. The couple wants their house design to reflect the current style of 21st-century architecture and design, including new, intriguing, and trending elements in goals of the client's goals or plan to make the space feel more prominent, with two levels and large windows to bring in many daylight, and vertical ornamentations in simple patterns.
Design Statement:
In the Davis Residence, I wanted to create an airy, open design. I incorporated a few design trends in beach houses to achieve this goal. Trends featured in this design are the incorporation of blue, the addition of wood, and the use of textiles and wallpapers. Biophilia is another essential part of this design because plants are a good way to incorporate the natural environment into the interior. Due to COVID-19, people have found themselves in their homes now more than ever, so adding natural elements helps people to feel connected to the outside world. Universal design is incorporated into the design of the home. For example, the guest room is placed on the first floor so whoever is there can access all necessary house resources without having to go upstairs.

One of the decorative areas of the foyer is the wallpaper that centers the room. This is used because of the similar style of the fabric on the armchairs but brings a distinguished, yet simple pattern.
